For some time now I've been wanting to get a dash cam, for well, what else? With all the perils on the road, such as recumbent trikes, cops, horse-drawn wagons, crazed drivers trying to scam you, and most importantly, dudes blending into the side of the road while wearing camouflage, I've been getting more and more paranoid. Now I'm looking for a two-way recording camera, so one with two cameras with one recording in front of you and one facing the inside the car recording behind you. I'd like to find one on Amazon, to spend my $5o gift card I got for Christmas. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot, under $100 or so. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My suggestion is to find a few on Amazon, read the user reviews, check out videos of the cameras on YouTube (lots of people review them). Happy hunting!

I just got this camera for Christmas. So far it's been pretty decent. The picture quality's pretty good, audio's reasonable, and the GPS acquires satellites quickly and gives consistent speed data on the video footage. It also loops and starts over-writing when the card is full instead of just shutting off, which is nice. So far my biggest gripes are with the suction cup, which seems to be useless if you're going more than 15 miles (I ended up sticking the more permanent adhesive mount onto my windshield), and it doesn't pick up as much at night as I was expecting. It's fine when you're recording streets with street lights/other cars, but if you're trying to get an early look at the deer that blindsided you on a dirt backroad then you may find yourself disappointed. I've also learned that if you have the camera aimed too far up and catch too much bright sky it causes the iris to close too much and the stuff you actually want to see (cars, ground, etc) ends up too dark. But for the price I'd say it's a good camera overall.

Just bought this one. Got it a $44 bucks but even 50 seems like a solid deal. Nothing to fancy but takes a great video rain or shine and has a decent microphone. Dont forget to buy an sd card. I'm getting about 7 hours on a 32gb on highest quality setting.

The G1W was actually one of my first choices, seems to be the standard issue in the dash cam world. Might be good for my budget. I'll have to add a rear facing camera some point in the future.
